The blast of oil wells was another wellspring of the Persian Gulf contamination in 1991. Around 500 million barrels of oil were discharged (or lighted) from copying wells during the rest of 1991. In any event, 80 boats were sunk during the war, a significant number of which were conveying oil and weapons. These boats, alongside those lost during the Iran-Iraq strife, will stay a constant wellspring of tainting in the Persian Gulf for a long time.
